Today the Adventure officially begins. I depart Dulles Airport this PM for the ride to Paris. Spend the night at Charles De Gaulle and then on Tuesday train to the starting point St Jean Pied de Port in southern France.
Preparing for this Pilgrimage has been interesting to say the least. The most asked question is why are you doing this? I best presented this answer to the 5th grade class at St Mary's Elementary this week. I call it AMPS. An Adventure to take care of my Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health. I challenged my new friends at St Mary's to tell me what their AMPS were when I return in June.
I can tell you I will not be sending a blog everyday but I am sure you will see enough pictures and updates for the next 6 weeks that you will be glad when I finish.
Let the journey begin. In four days I will be a Pilgrim walking the Camino de Santiago. Thank you for your support and most of all encouraging words. I wish each of you were going along ...
Nick

ReplyDeleteSounds like a great start for your adventure!

AMPS. What a great acronym and objective, Nick. Certainly the history of the area adds background and color to the journey. Did Hannibal take the same path through the Pyrenees?
