Tonight I am in Rabanal, the last city before we climb to the highest point on the Camino at the Cruz de Ferro. The walk today was all seasons Rain snow, sunshine and wind. The mountains tomorrow are covered with snow. Not a challenge for a Pilgrim. I did see the original Cruz de Ferro in the museum in Astorga. See second to last photo.
The stay in Astorga was very special, again Antonio Gaudi was present with a Muesum dedicated to his works. The cathedral was like all the rest, spectacular. I have included pictures from the ever changing country side.
The journey continues, I walk with or see people from the first day and also meet new people who are coming on to the trail for the first time. We all become a family, taking care of each other and gaining worldly knowledge from everyone.
Tomorrow the climb... the visit to the Cruz de Ferro where I will leave those items sent with me or read those prayers given to me. It has been a wonderful awaking. The best part is that I have a hard time remembering the date or day of the week. Best to all. I will try and be a little more timely with my blog in the future.
Nick
PS ... my heal is on the mend.

Re: the heel; OUCH!
ReplyDeleteNick, I have loved reading your blog and following your trip vicariously. And what a joy to see the picture of my little shell delivered...in snow! I wish you continued joy in this trip of a lifetime.
