I thought it might be interesting to take a day and write about fellow Pilgrims and interest. I have had the pleasure of meeting people from all over the world, France, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Australian, New Zealand, England, Holland, Russia, USA, South Korea, Germany, Austria and I am sure I missed a few. Common topics are children, pets, jobs, weather, and the most interesting part is that we really do not talk about politics and leadership. Having met Mick and Nic Young the first day of the Camino, they are from Australia, we had the mutal interest in our life called a dog.. of course mine is Sara and their is a yellow labrapottle named L'ol. L'ol sent her parents a letter today that I wanted to share with everyone and I am sure that we all feel the same way about our pets that we have left behind... enjoy. Happy Birthday to my son Todd today. Nick

Dear Owners
Where are you?
Many moons have passed since you left and never does the garage door open. And when I return home from next door, it is always Russ who answers the door. Actually he never answers the door, he must be going deaf, so the cheese lady sends me round the side so I can get in through the back door.
Despite your absence, I am having a pretty good life, although I do miss you both. Mostly, I will go over the fence when the boys get home from school. They are very excited to see me, and then I go home when Russ gets home.
Will’s dog came to visit a while back (last Sunday). Her name is Lily, and she is a wild child. I was a little scared at first, and was running as fast as I could to get away from her, but she just kept on chasing, thinking it was a game. All the 2 legged people were laughing a lot, but I didn’t think it was that funny. We ran round and round in circles, through the garden, down the driveway, round the cars and then back through the garden again. Eventually I realised I was having fun, but I was glad when she left, as I was pooped. The cheese lady gave us some water, but Lily has no manners at all, and would not share with me. Eventually the cheese lady got me my own bowl which was much better than drinking Lily’s slobber!
Today I went on a grand outing. It was scary at first going in the back of the big car, but I just lay down and was taken for a ride. I hope you aren’t concerned that I didn’t wear a seatbelt but the nice man drove very safely. I did slide about a bit on my woolly tummy when we turned corners. But eventually we arrived at our destination. The whole cheese family was there. I jumped out of the car, and off we went down to Nudgee Beach. There was a lot of sand ( a bit dirty on my beautiful white coat), a lot of water, and a lot of birds. I had loads of fun. I ran through the water, I chased the birds and of course I drank the salty water. I was allowed to run on a long piece of rope which the nice man attached to my lead. Flynn and Charlie took turns in trying to hold me back but I could run faster than them and I am also stronger than them, so really I just pulled them along. There were a few other dog friends on the beach. I tried to chase one (who was much bigger than me) but only because I know I was on the lead. Mostly we took a wide berth. The seagulls were intriguing. If you run straight at them, they fly away. It was soooooo much fun. After 45 minutes, I was pretty tired, so we all came home. I had to be hosed down (mostly legs and under carriage), and then wait with the cheese family until I was dry (towels, hair-dryer and time) and Russ arrived home. I have requested extra food for dinner tonight.
The cheese family had a lot of fun. I think they will get a dog soon-ish, but I know I will always hold a special place in their hearts.
The cheese lady is having trouble with possums eating her herbs on the front deck. They have eaten all her baby spinach and snacked on the lettuce and nibbled at the parsley. She must cover them securely with plastic each night. Perhaps one night, I can stand guard, although not tonight as I am way too tired and will be dreaming of the sand, the sea, and the seagulls.
Will you be home tomorrow?
LOL
L’Ol
