7 May Pictures

Tuesday

"If not us, then who. If not now when?"

I have passed through Burgos, a beautiful city, and I am now in Hornillos a very small country village of maybe 100 people. The journey has taken me to the plains of Spain. I think Audrey Hepburn had a song abut about when it rains in Spain. Just by chance it is suppose to rain tomorrow.

For about the next seven days we will be walking through the most desolate area of the journey arriving in Leon to one of the largest cities on the walk. I have gone past the 200 mile mark, so we only have 300 to go, and by the time we are in Leon it should be all most 200 miles before we arrive in Santiago.

The Pilgrims are starting to fall, one lady had shin splints today, one old guy named Nick has a blister on his heel, another German Pilgrim had bruised his heels and could hardly walk, lots of people with sore backs, so the walk is taking its toll, bottom line you move on.

Burgos is certainly a city that you would want to spend a few days taking advantage of all the shops and historical venues. Clean, dressed like a fine spanish couple, it is an area I would come back to visit and take in more of the history of this region.

The photos that are attached are from the past few days. My travels continue towards Santiago, I enjoyed all the email notes from the 5th grade team and if I missed someone in my answers I apologize. Thank you all for your caring notes.

I am not sure what the level of connectivity will be for the next few days so if our blog is not updated on a daily basis it might have something to do with the availability of electrons.

With that...Happy early mothers day to all.... through the plains we go.

Nick

Sara still waits my return.
